P-Sea Digitizer is designed to create vector charts, while P-Sea ChartScanner creates raster charts that must be used in conjunction with our plotter software. Why pay a lot of money for new electronic, digital charts if you already have an extensive library of paper charts? Just use either of these programs to convert your charts, personalize or note recent changes mentioned via your local Notice to Mariner's.

P-Sea ChartScanner is a Windows based program that utilizes the high accuracy of a very fast, single pass color flatbed scanner to produce a picture of the chart on WindPlot. Everything that is printed on the chart will appear on WindPlot's plotter screen. This method is much less labor intensive than P-Sea Digitizer. Since a scan takes only a minute, a complete chart can be done in less than one hour. The price includes the scanner and the program is very simple to operate. You just scan a section of the chart, then calibrate it with two lat/long references.

P-Sea Digitizer is a DOS based program that utilizes the high accuracy of a CAD digitizing pad (not included). Because it is DOS based, it can be used with either P-Sea Plotter (which is DOS based), or our Windows based WindPlot program. Two different tablets can be used; Genius HiSketch 1812SP or 1212. They are inexpensive digitizing pads with an exceptionally high accuracy of more than 600 points per inch. The digitizer consist of a power pack, a positioning device (puck) that has four buttons on it, and a 18 x 12 inch pad (larger model) that your charts are digitized on. The display or stylus pens that come with some tablets are not required.

The program digitizes the OUTLINE of the coast so nothing would keep one from digitizing a series of TRACKS instead of the coastal outline in one of the directories for a permanent record of your tracks. The program can also pick up marks and hangs.

			 P-Sea Digitizer requires free serial port and a digitizer
			 tablet - Genius HiSketch 1212 or 1812 with puck only
				(stylus pen and display not required).
			 P-Sea ChartScanner includes both program and scanner.
			 It requires only a free card slot in the computer.
