IM11BSB.DIL to fix problems with displaying BSB charts. Replace the existing file in you plotter directory with this file then reboot the computer.
(Note: This does not a fix for BSB4 charts. P-Sea WindPlot II ver. 7.05 or better is need to display BSB4 charts)
XP Key Driver 496
keydvr496.exe Download this file only for newer XP's
(approx. 5.8 Mbytes)to get the latest key driver ver.4.96.
Please note it will not fit onto a floppy and you must uninstall the current key driver first using the key
driver setup in the P-Sea WindPlot program group. (Note: If you get an error message "Can't create output file" then run the key install program again
but this time un-check the "Overwrite files without prompting" and do not copy over the file that gave the error message.)
If you do not see the "Key Driver Setup" program, then you can uninstall the driver by clicking on
"START" then "RUN" and enter in the following: "C:\PC-PLOTT\HINSTALL.EXE -r -kp" (without the quotes and a space before the -r -kp)
Then reinstall by clicking on "START" then "RUN" and enter in the following: "C:\PC-PLOTT\HINSTALL.EXE -i -kp".

that can be used to install a program that will test if a key is working or not.
If you are running WindPlot in multiple directories then look at the number of the key on the back of your computer.
For key numbers smaller than 3000, you will need to copy the file NVWGC16.DLL in your PC-PLOTT directory to your
WINDOWS/SYSTEM DIRECTORY to get all programs to see the key.
If it still does not see the key, reboot the computer and try to run WindPlot again. If you still get the error run
the P-Sea Key Setup again and use the "Check Key Status" button or type in HINSTALL in the RUN menu without the -I to verify you have version 4.65(4.96) installed. If not, repeat the above procedure again until
you get version 4.65(or 4.96) installed.
Windows VISTA: WindPlot II is Vista Ready!(Exept Home Premium Version)
Hours of work we have fixed the problem with Vista. WindPlot II or MAX now works on Vista with no problems that we can find. However,
we do recommend a minimum of 1.5 Gigs of RAM to make it work smoothly.
And, if you start Vista from a full power down, then when you start Vista again wait at least 5 minutes before starting WindPlot to give Vista plenty of time to load all of the drivers it needs.
NOTE: If you are running ver. 7.18.6 and have issues with COM port drop outs OR you find Windows Vista starts acting up after several hours
then download and replace WNDPLTII.EXE with this older version that appears to not have the problem while we work on finding
out why this is happening.

Be sure to unplug the key, reboot the computer and be sure WindPlot is not running before running the HDD32.EXE key driver installation program.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE FOR WINDOWS VISTA INSTALL: Please turn off AUC (and leave it off) before installing on Windows
Vista by clicking on CONTROL PANEL and open USER ACCOUNTS.
Then select TURN ON/OFF USER ACCOUNT CONTROL and uncheck the USE AUC check box then click on OK.
You do not need to download the key drivers if you do the either of these two 7.18 installs above.
Install CD's that are older than 2/1/07 will install WindPlot 6.77 but not WindPlot II.
Please note that WindPlot 1 (6.77) runs on Vista but it does experience a problem with Explorer or COM ports after about 9 hours and will require a restart of the computer.
You will need to upgrade to WindPlot II to resolve this problem.
USB to SERIAL Replicators: The I/O Gear Model GUC232A USB adaptor works on Vista. Use the XP drivers to install it as there are no VISTA drivers.
P-Sea WindPlot II/Max will run on the 64 bit Vista too.
Hint:Give Vista time (5 minutes) when starting the computer from a cold power-up to give time for all of the drivers to load or errors may occur.

Other install problems
If you never see any message or the WindPlot II program starts but quits right away and the THREED32.OCX register described above didn't work then try the following:
Click on START then RUN and enter REGSVR32 /u SAPI.DLL and click on OK
If it does not say the operation was completed successfully then search for SAPI.DLL and copy it to the Windows/system32 folder.
Now enter REGSVR32 SAPI.DLL at windows RUN box and click on OK then try running the program again.
New install problem of no start or OUT OF MEMORY: We have found a file called THREED32.OCX is not registered by windows like it should. Try the following
1) Click on START then choose RUN.
2) Clear it out and enter: REGSVR32 /U THREED32.OCX then click on OK (you may get an error message. that is ok)
3) Now clear out and enter REGSVR32 C:\PC-PLOTT\THREED32.OCX then click on OK(you should get a message that it was successfull)
4) Now try WindPlot, it should run now.

If you still can not get the keys to work, make sure there are no other copies of these files anywhere in your system with earlier dates.
Rainbow key users will have to upgrade to the latest key to get WindPlot to work in XP or 2000pro!
